Your details and the Leicester beta.

Who we are

La Novia is a driving lessons app being built in Leicester. We decide how the details you give us are used. You can contact us about anything on this page at support@lanoviadrive.co.uk.

What we collect

When you apply for the beta, we collect:

• your name and email address
• whether you’re a learner driver or a driving instructor
• the postcode, or first half of the postcode, where your lessons happen
• for learners: that you’re 17 or older, and whether you learn in a manual or an automatic
• for instructors: whether you’re an ADI or a trainee, and whether you’re taking new pupils
• that you have an iPhone that can run the beta
• whether you’d like optional news and updates, and when you applied

We never ask for your driving licence, ID or bank details on this form.

Why we use it

We use your answers to run the beta: to check you’re in the area we’re starting in, choose testers in stages, and email you a TestFlight invite if you’re picked. We do this because you asked to join (our legitimate interest in running the beta you applied for). We only send news and updates if you ticked the box, and you can stop them at any time.

Who sees it

Only the La Novia team. Applications are stored with Supabase, on servers in London. Emails, like the one confirming your application, are sent by Resend from servers in Ireland. This website is hosted by Netlify, a US company: like any website host, it sees your IP address and browser details when you visit, to show you the page and keep the site safe. They only handle your details to provide these services for us. If you’re picked, we give your email address to Apple so TestFlight can send your invite. We never sell your details.

Keeping the form safe

To stop spam and automated sign-ups, we count how many times the form is sent from each internet connection. We never store your IP address for this: each count is kept under a scrambled code, made from your IP address and a secret, that changes every day and can’t be turned back into the address.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies for visitors: no analytics, no adverts and no tracking, so there’s nothing to accept or reject. The only cookie keeps the La Novia team signed in to our private admin page, and it’s only ever set there. If you hide the small “Powered by Netlify” badge, your browser remembers that for a week so it stays hidden.

How long we keep it

Until the beta ends. If you join La Novia, your details move into your account. If you don’t, we delete them within 12 months of the beta ending.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted at any time. Email support@lanoviadrive.co.uk and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
